How to edit your Hero and About sections
What this covers
The hero is the first section of your home page: a heading, supporting lines, the main button and a photo. The about section on your home page and your About page tell visitors who you are. Each has its own tab in the Website Editor.
Where to find it
- Log in to your site's WordPress admin.
- In the left menu, click Website Editor.
- Click Hero or About.
- Change the fields, then click Save at the bottom of the tab.
Hero fields
| Field | What it changes |

| Homepage hero headline | The main heading. It is the same value as the Home page's Page heading in the Content tab. |
| Hero eyebrow | A short line above the heading. |
| Hero subheadline override (blank keeps the About page's own intro line) | The line under the heading. |
| Hero check-list items (max 3; blank keeps the auto-derived list) | Short points under the heading. Click Add for a new Item text row, or Remove on a row. |
| Hero rating value override | The rating number shown in the hero. |
| Hero filled-star count override (0-5; only used when a real rating is on file) | How many of the five stars are filled. |
| Hero rating label override | The words next to the rating. |
| Hero background style | The color treatment behind the hero. The list shows (default), hero_dark, primary_fade, media_dark, primary_secondary and surface. (default) uses hero_dark. |
| Hero image | The hero photo. Click Select image or Change image to open your media library, or Remove to clear it. |
The three rating fields only change the hero when your site has a real rating on file. They cannot add a rating to a site that has none.
About fields

| About commitments | A list of points, each with a Title and a Description. Use Add and Remove. |

| About detail photo (small inset photo next to the team photo) | A second, smaller photo. |
| About page values eyebrow | A short line in an extra block on your About page. |
| About page service-area description | Text in the same extra block. The block shows only when this field or the values eyebrow is filled in. |
| About page subtitle (below "About Us"; blank keeps "Company") | The small line at the top of your About page. |
The longer story on your About page is in the Content tab: choose the About page in the Page list and edit About page body (rich text).
Good to know
- Designs use these fields differently. On the Waterline design the hero shows the headline and subheadline next to two photos; the eyebrow, check-list, rating and background style fields do not change it.
- The main button text in the hero is set in Global Values. See the call-to-action page.
