Batch builds: how to build a batch of mini-sites
What a batch does
A batch turns a list of businesses into one-page mini-sites. Each row in the list becomes one mini-site. The whole batch shares one industry, one template, one price tool choice, and one default logo size.
Before you start
- A batch costs 5 website credits or one credit per row, whichever is more. A 3-row batch costs 5. A 20-row batch costs 20.
- The credits are taken when you click Start Batch.
- A batch holds up to 500 rows.
Step 1: Prepare a CSV
The file needs a header row with a business_name column. Every data row needs a business name. Header names are matched without regard to case, spaces, or dashes. Columns the page does not know are ignored. Blank rows are skipped.
| Column | Required | Accepted values |
|---|---|---|
business_name | Yes | The business name. A column named company, company_name, business, or name is read as this column. |
phone | No | Phone number |
email | No | Email address |
address | No | Address |
primary_color | No | A six-digit hex color, such as #1F3E90 |
logo_url | No | A direct link to a logo image |
background_theme | No | light or dark |
contact_mode | No | form or scheduler |
service_areas | No | Town names separated by commas or | |
business_hours | No | Free text. Anything past 200 characters is cut. |
website_url | No | The business's own website. When logo_url is empty, the build tries to find a logo on this site. |
There is no industry column. Industry is set once for the whole batch in the next step. An industry column in the file is ignored.
The upload card has a Download a sample CSV link. The Batch CSV (Batch builds) export on Prospects and Campaigns also produces a file in this format.
Step 2: Upload Your CSV
- Click Batch builds in the left menu, then + New Batch.
- Batch industry: required. It shapes the copy on every mini-site in the batch.
- Price tool: pick a trade's price tool or No price tool. Every mini-site in the batch gets the same tool with sample rates. The industry sets the default choice.
- Batch template: pick a card. Classic, Bold, and Waterline are offered.
- Default logo size: a slider from 48 to 160 px. It applies to every mini-site in the batch.
- Upload CSV: drag the file onto the box or click Choose File. The page reads the file right away and lists any problems under it.
- Click Continue.
If you came from Build sites for selected on a results table, the upload box is replaced by your selected rows. Click Start over with a CSV to use a file instead.
Step 3: Review Leads
This step shows the file name, the row count, the industry, the template, and the first 10 rows. The cost line reads "Uses N credits | N available after start".
If your balance is too low, Start Batch is disabled and a message shows the amount needed and your balance. Click Back to change the setup. Click Start Batch to create the batch.
Step 4: Batch Started
The page shows a progress ring and "N of N finished". It reads Batch Complete when every row is done. The line under it shows the batch ID, the credits reserved, and the credits remaining. Click View Batch to open the batch, or New Batch + to start another one.
The batch page
Open a batch from the Your Batches list on Batch builds. The tabs All, Running, and Completed filter the list. The search box finds a batch.
The batch page shows its status, how many rows are complete, the credits used, and the price tool. Each row shows a status: Pending, Queued, Processing, Completed, or Failed. A failed row shows its own error. The other rows keep building.
Published
The Published toggle controls search engines. When it is off, the mini-sites are hidden from search engines (noindex). When it is on, they can be indexed and the sitemap.xml and robots.txt are live.
Link
The Link column opens a completed row's site in a new tab.
Settings on one row
- On a completed row, click ⚙ Settings.
- Change any of: Business name, Phone, Email, Address, Logo URL, Primary color, Background mode.
- Click Save. The mini-site shows the new values on its next page load.
Upgrade to WordPress
On a completed row, click ⬆ Upgrade to WordPress, then Start upgrade. This builds a full WordPress website from the row's details. It uses 1 website credit. The page states the build takes about 4–9 minutes. When it is done, the row reads "WordPress site live" and the Link column points to the WordPress site. If the build fails, the row shows Retry upgrade.
Export CSV
Click Export CSV to download every row with these columns: Row #, Business, Slug, Status, Phone, Email, Address, Primary Color, Logo URL, Public URL, Site URL, Error.
Refunds
- If every row in a batch fails, the batch's credits are returned.
- If some rows complete and some fail, the credits are not returned.
- If the batch cannot be created, nothing is charged.
