How to edit service pages and service-area pages
What these pages are
Each service you offer has its own page, and so does each area you serve. You edit them in the Content tab of the Website Editor, the same way as your other pages.
If you open one of these pages in WordPress's normal page editor, a note at the top reads "This page is part of your generated website." with a link, Edit it in the Website Editor →.
How to edit one
- Log in to your site's WordPress admin.
- In the left menu, click Website Editor.
- Click Content.
- Open the Page list. Each entry shows its type in brackets:
(service)for a service,(service_area)for a service area and(page)for other pages. - Choose the one you want. Its fields appear below the list.
- Change the fields, then click Save.
Fields
| Field | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Page heading | The large heading at the top of the page. |
| Intro paragraphs | The opening paragraphs. Use Add paragraph and Remove last. |
| Homepage card blurb | The short line on this service's card in the home page services section. |
| Body sections | The main content, as a list of sections, each with a heading and paragraphs. Use Add and Remove. |
| FAQs | Questions and answers for this page. Each row has a Question and an Answer. |
| Closing call to action | Heading, body, button link and image for a closing band. See the note below. |
Below the content fields is an SEO heading with the page's search-result fields. See SEO title and description.
The same list also shows About page body (rich text), used on the About page, and two fields that apply only to general pages that have no layout of their own: Page intro paragraph (shown above the page content; generic pages only) and Page featured image (shown above the page content; generic pages only).
Good to know
- The closing band on service and service-area pages uses the text from your Home page's Closing call to action. To change it, edit that field on the Home page. See the call-to-action page.
- The Page list includes draft pages as well as published ones.
- To check your change, open that service or service-area page on your site in a new tab.
